QUALIFICATION FORM AND REGISTRATION

Answer: Yes, you can change your t-shirt size up to one month before the event. To request a change, please email us at events@hellosabah.com with your full name, I/C number or passport number, phone number, and new t-shirt size.

 

Please note that changes requested within one month of the event cannot be accommodated due to printing schedules. An administrative fee of RM10 will also be charged for each t-shirt size change.

Answer: Each participant must register individually, as all registrations are subject to approval of your qualification form. Hence, group registrations or registrations on behalf of others are not available.

Answer: Yes, we will facilitate refunds in the event of cancellation or postponement.

CATEGORY

Answer:

Men’s and Women’s Elite 

Participants must be at least 18 years old as of 18 October 2026, born on or before 18 October 2008.

Veteran’s Category – Must be 40 years old above born on or before 18 October 1986. Must be above 40 years old, born on or before 18 October 1986.

Participants must present their identification card or passport during registration for age verification.

Falsification of any information on the entry form, such as age classification, will result in disqualification.

RACE

Answer: The route features a total of eight (8) water stations, including one at the finishing lines

Answer: There will be eight (8) aid stations in total, including one at the finishing lines.

Answer:

You can park your car outside the entrance of Kinabalu Park. Please note that only official vehicles are allowed beyond the gate. The race starting line is at Kinabalu Hall, which is located inside the park area.

 

Answer: 
1. OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE
Each participant shall complete the Climbathon without any outside assistance. Including the use of Trekking Poles.

2. ATTIRE
Each participant shall be free to choose his or her own attire for the Climbathon. However, the usage of transparent attire is STRICTLY PROHIBITED (Participants are reminded that the temperature at the mountain base varies from 13 to 20 degrees centigrade whilst the temperature at the summit of Mount Kinabalu ranges from 2 to 10 degrees centigrade).

3. NUMBERS FOR PARTICPANTS (BIB NO)
Each participant shall be given an official number, which must be affixed with safety pins on the front and back of the participant’s attire.

RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT
– Hydration Vest/Pack, to carry additional water.
– Trail Running Shoes: With good traction and support for variable terrain.
– Extra Layers: A long-sleeve shirt or jacket to prevent hypothermia.
– Nutrition: Pack energy gels, chews, or bars for longer runs to maintain energy levels.

HOTEL & ACCOMMODATION

Answer: There are plenty of hotels around Kundasang, you can find more information on our website.

 

Answer: You can self-collect or get your friends and families to collect on your behalf. If a friend is collecting on your behalf, please ensure they bring a copy of your registration confirmation receipt to the race pack collection center.

RACE PACK COLLECTION

Answer: The Race Pack Collection is on 16 October 2026 (Friday) at Kinabalu Hall, Kinabalu Park.

Answer: You can self-collect or get your friends and families to collect on your behalf. If a friend is collecting on your behalf, please ensure they bring a copy of your registration confirmation receipt to the race pack collection center.

Answer: No. Race packs must be collected by participants themselves.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Answer: Each participant is free to choose his or her own attire for the Climbathon. However, the use of transparent clothing is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Participants are reminded that the temperature at the base of the mountain ranges from 13°C to 20°C, while at the summit of Mount Kinabalu it ranges from 2°C to 10°C.

Answer: Each participant will be assigned an official race number, which must be securely affixed using safety pins on both the front and back of their attire.

Answer: The time limits allocated for each category are as follows:

  1. Men’s Elite Category:

Answer: All participants must complete the Climbathon without any outside assistance.

Answer: Check station judges, identifiable by their name tags, will be stationed at various checkpoints along the Climbathon route. All participants must pass through these check stations. Failure to do so will result in automatic disqualification.

Answer: Any participant may submit an appeal to the Jury, which consists of three members, headed by a qualified Malaysian Amateur Athletics Union Technical Official. All decisions made by the Appeal Jury are final.

Answer: The Committee shall not be held responsible for any injury or death occurring before, during, or after the Climbathon.

Answer: The Committee reserves the right to amend the Rules of the Climbathon at any time as it may deem fit.
